    Default in your opinion!!!

Looking at my rear discs and pads at wk end and the discs are scored and pads down to about 5mm, I know they need changing but here is the question???????
Is it best to fit genuine parts or cheaper parts??
How much do genuine ones cost compared to none genuine?? any links for prices?? cheers

    IMO

I would go for standard set up, they can be got for under £60 and unless you are planning SERIOUS power upgrades, they will do the job just fine, besides, mine lasted 70k miles!

They seem good and not too bad a price. Got any pics ? Really interested! Thread Hi-jack ! lol

I would go standard myself, only reason I would consider MTEC or similar is for the look ! lol

I'll take some today of the vec... I know i've recommended to a couple of people on here so i'm not the only one that has them on at the min... Astra with them below - on for 3yrs no issues before i sold the car...

And its purely for looks here too, although they do feel miles sharper and not even bedded in yet (but new pads too so) - my brakes where really poor compared to my missus mondeo, but thats what the M.O.T failed on so maybe it not just that its a vec (what i put it down to )

And RobW - Your right, no point unless have serious power, might aswell ditch my Irmy rear spoiler while at it - cant really justify needing that extra down force on a 2.2

I bought a full set of discs & pads from MTEC about 2 months ago and the improvement was marked, although the old ones were shot to pieces. The brakes are now much sharper and brake fade is greatly reduced.

    I'd certainly recommend them.

Leemarksmith - They look damn fine lol Do they have a shiny finish or is it that you took the pictures straight after fitting ? Does that question make sense ? lol
