    Default disconnecting display screen

on my car the bulbs had gone on the triple info display so i took it all apart and removed the screen so it would be easier to change the bulbs. put it all back together and it won't display radio stations also my steering controls don't work. can i reset this myself to get it all working again or will mr tech 2 be needed?

I would double check it as it has been known to not sit back in properly failing that disconnecting battery for 30 mins might help

You can change the ignition logic through settings on stereo mate, there's a menu for it some where
I would disconnect battery for 30 mins and see if that helps its a bit funny how its just happend after un plugging screen this to me sounds like its not seated right.
Did you pull the lock tab up then slot it into screen and push down on clip ?

Obvious question, but was the ignition etc on with the plug disconnected?
If so, check the fuses in the end of the dash.
    From memory - fuses 7 and 9 (or 17 and 19) and definately fuses 1 and 12...
These feed the body control module and the infotainment system.

Fuse 10 also feeds the CIM module which controls ignition live signals and steering wheel controls.

In short check ALL the fuses to be sure.

Sounds like the low-speed can-bus is not connected...this covers ignition on / off signals to the display and radio....
Green wire on pin 28 of the display topin 40 of the BCM.

Radio info is transferred on the green / white pair of wires on pins 19 and 20 to pins 9 and 10 of the radio.
These are the mid speed can-bus wires...

The only thing in common, is the display.

Just check that the wires in the connector plug are all secure (not backed out) and that the wires didn't get snapped (unlikely) whilst disconnecting the plug from the screen.

Also did you dismantle the screen itself or just remove the bulbs..?
If you dismantled the screen, then have a look to see if you re-connected everything properly, and that you haven't trapped any ribbons or wires in there.

As Bigmac correctly implies...there is something (power or data signal) not getting to the display. internal or external connector?

Also if there is a technical glitch with the screen, then unplugging everything for 30 mins, should do a cold reset of the display.
    Worth a try.

Any other lights not illuminated...console switches etc...

If no lights, then this points to BCM fuse

CIM controls - wheel controls, ignition live signals....
this then links to BCM via low speed canbus

BCM then controls, instrument lighting, infotainment system, and all info transfer to the display etc..this is done through the mid-speed canbus.

Regardless - tech 2 is NOT required as no programming changes have taken place.

    My guess is fuse F12!!
