Default Feast your eyes on this marvel of technology!

This is my attempt at a switching unit for my two tuning boxes, about £700 worth of gear there! Doesn't work. I tried it earlier and hit some problems but I don't have my multi meter with me and I think it is a loose connection in the wiring from the engine bay to the cabin. So I'll falt find it when I get hold of my multi meter.

    Theory though,
    1) a switch to select which box to use
    2) another switch to change from normal to using the box

The output from the boxes is lower than the normal signal so when the switch is made to connect the sensor output dirrectly it operates normally. When the switch breaks that flow, the box that is connected at the time gets to push it's signal through.

The resistors don't do anything, they just happen to be on the board

I know less than nothing about "tuning boxes", but it looks like the three circled wires aren't connected to anything - could that be the problem?

That's where I take the lines for the two boxes and the standard signal to the switches. By the way, if anyone else has more than one tuning box, the connections in the cables are different in these two at least (Tunit CR3 and D-UK CR2), so don't try swaping them if one cable looks better than the other.

Tried it out from the engine bay and it didn't stall (which is good). So it must be a problem with the lines to the switches.

Can't really climb out on the bonnet while doing 60mph to try and turn the box on or off, not even I'm that MAD!

Seen that before, it was on the bonnet of a Delorean in a cave in 1885, something to do with time travel.
