Default Help..Clear spanner light by disconnecting battery?

Car was in dealers a few weeks ago to have intake manifold and glow plug sorted (EML was on due to glow plug fault). The thing is I've noticed today that the spanner light is on only with the ignition and goes off when the car is started. Car is running fine. The thing is has this light been on since I picked it up from the garage? I don't think it has TBH. I am presuming that it is a stored fault code and I may not have noticed it. Thinking of disconecting the battery for an hour to see if it clears. I have got the radio code and security code. What settings will I need to reset when I reconnect? I'm slightly worried that central locking won't work and the wife is worried that the car won't start!!

marky my 05 plate did exactly the same thing it came on at ignition and went off just after the EML. I was told that no fault ode was present and after about 20 or thirty starts the light went out all on its own.. The cars performance never waivered during the duration of the light being on during the start up sequence

Am going to wait til tomorrow and ring the dealers see what they say. The work is guaranteed for 12 months so hopefully not cost anything for them to read the code

You're right, it's a stored fault code - not an active one. After a certain number of clean starts or 'x' amount of days the fault light will go out of its own accord.

Popped into dealers this morning and the plugged tech 2 in. It was a stored code for the glow plugs and he wiped it off....in and out in under 10 minutes

Aaaarrrgghh!! Spanner light back on now only on ignition again. Dealers need it booked it in to investigate. Why is coming back on only on the ignition when tech 2 machine cleared it? Surely if it was an active code it would be on with engine running?? Disconnected the battery today for an hour and the light is still on!!
