noise from rear suspension

my 1.9 cdti120 when normal driving even over a drain it sounds like the rear of the car is going to fall off, ive put it over the pit and everything looks fine no broken springs, no sign of oil from shockers and all bushes look good please help its bugging the s**t out of me

Try grabbing a hold of the top of the wheel (when on the ground) and listen for a clunking sound, if you hear that then you need new upper control arms.

Failing that it may be your arb bushes. They may look ok but they may still be the culprit hth

found a knock on the one side, i had the other 1 done a month ago, guess i should have had them done as a pair may as well do the arb bushes to cheers all

I had exactly the same on the upper control arms. I gave both wheels a good old yank on the top and they both knocked. Both replaced this weekend, abit fiddly. The bushes on the hub end were like sponge, really soft. But all is good now..
Theres an excellent how to on replacing the arms...
