ok, so i got my car on the ramp in work today to have a look at the boost pipe?? on the os of the engine as you look at it. Once o got it in first thing i noticed was that the 2 securing brackets on this pipe had no bolts in so it wasnt actuallt attatched to anything other than the inlet manifold at the top and the intercooler at the bottom. So i but 2 new bolts in so its now secure, now here's that bad part, along the bottom of the intercooler is a build up of oil the mechanic who looked at it with me said the corners had also swollen and gone a little out of shape. I have no fault codes in the car as i scanned it. The swilr rod has stayed in place after a drive today so fingers crossed that will last a while longer, i also took the boost pressure sensor off and give it a good clean, and also i decided to take off the dtuk box and see how it runs with out that on for a few weeks, so far so good today, missing the little extra power but if it means it runs better then its better for me. I priced an intercooler up this morning and it was about £130, what kind of job is it to do? does it slide out from in between the condensor and the radiator or do all 3 units have to come out together?? think im going to try cleaning the egr valve next weekend see if that helps my probllems of the slight missfire when 1st started and lack of power sometimes in the early rev range..
