    Default Eml on

I have just been changing a roller on the alternator belt to try and eliminate an annoying noise when cold, this has reduced it but after further investigation another noise was coming from the cambelt rollers, I had to start the car with out the air box on to be able to trace the second noise and i now have the eml light on, is this due to no airbox or maf meter connected and if so will it go away on its own.
