    what is the best speed to drive (motorway miles) at to get the best mpg

    car is a vectra 1.9 cdti 150

    depend's, most say 56mph is the most economical but me a steady 65 - 70 still return's a good 50+ mpg....

    I have same car but auto, 70 ish on cruise got me just over 55mpg on a 120 mile journey 90% motorway, same journey with slightly higher speed got 52+mpg, so I was well happy with both.

    Yep, I always use cruise at 70mph but if Im on an economy run, then 66mph seems the best IMO.

    People say cruise worsens your MPG - Dont think so, I feel it improves it but hey !

    keep the rev at 2000 and set CC i get 63 mpg in my 2.0dti doing this (speeds about 60-65mph) doing that in my megane 1.5dcii got 85 mpg

    i agree wiv u mucker ,i put cruise on and i feel it put about 2 mpg on easy,just due to the fact that some times you dont notice that you have sped up (on motorway).

    but around 70 has given me 58 mpg but a always get atleast 54mpg

    60 to 70 mph gets me about 60 mpg on a long run but thats not a motorway run

    Above 70 and wind resistance starts hitting fuel economy hard, so I would say about 65mph would give the best economy on a motorway as this would also mean you were cruising in the peak torque band, and therefore maximum efficiency. Good times

    Just did a 250 mile run up & down the M1 when i hit the '50mph average speed limit' the MPG soared. 61 mpg on cruise
