Default cd70 inputs help ..06 plate

not sure if anyone knows the answer to this question but here goes...

    2006 cdti150 full canbus

last night me and a mate wired in my nokia bluetooth car kit which works great, we just used the feed from the ciggie lighter socket for the earth and the ignition live and tapped off the head unit plug for the permanent live , mute and used the nokia speaker wire tapped into the front left and right speakers from the head unit plug.

when i use my phone i get the message on the display internal in , now i have not had to plug in tech 2 or anything it just worked so what i want to know is would the cd70 take another feed so i can plug in my alpine amp (as there does not appear to be any input sockets on the back of the unit) and if so how would i go about it ?

    cheers

in a word No..... only 2007.5MY models have any facility for a line in... although a guy on here is offering a retrofit service for it...

The cd70 has an input for telephone mute (external in). There are no others unless you have a very late CD70 (2007 onwards) which has an aux input for an mp3 player, the socket is in the tray under the heater controls on the right.
If you want to connect an amp to the cd70 then you need to use an RCA convertor.

thanks for the quick replies guys i wasn't 100% sure so thought i would ask first but i had a feeling this was going to be the case . i dont have the aux in socket in the tray so that rules that out ... i will have to look into an rca convertor any ideas best way to connect it up ?

You normally tap off the rear speaker connections behind the headunit to provide the feed for the RCA convertor.

theres a big grommet at the back of the glovebox. undo the glovebox and you'll see it.. make a hole carefully in that then seal it after the new cables through, or i think there is a smaller grommet above it somewhere.
