    Default Random Spanner Light

I am getting a random spanner light on my CDTi 150. It has just started appearing after ignition and then turns off after 5 minutes.

Also, if I turn the car off and then restart - it does not appear second time around. Any suggestions?
    TIA
    Martin

I have the same light on my 3.2, think mine is summat to do with an immobiliser fault, going to take the battery off for a bit to see if it takes it off. In the diesels i think its something to do with water in the oil filter? Not too sure though, have u done the self diagnostic on it?

Is it the car with the spanner through it? If so and it goes out the manual says not to worry about it, if it stays on there is a bigger problem.

I'm only guessing as mine is doing the same thing and I have had it on my Tech 2, but I believe the fault you will find is due to the glow plugs and they will require changing. The reason it doesn't come on the second time around is that the engine is warm.

If you are over towards Selby at all, drop me a PM and I can hook up my Tech 2 and confirm the fault.

I've just read about the water/oil fliter thing and I tried the self diagnostic things too - but couldn't get it to work!

Not overly concerend unless it stays on all the time. Also not due for service for another 4,000 miles.

I don't know how many times it's been mentioned on here but the car/spanner light IS NOT the service reminder light.
