Engine wont start

i have a vectra c 2.0 dti 2003 and i recently bought a op-com diagnostic interface and when plugged in got a few error codes which could be old stored codes.

i tried clearing the codes but they came back and was told by a friend to reset the ecu (which can be done by the op-com interface) and upon doing this i now can not start the car and get an error code stating that it is my immobaliser.

Does anyone know how to get it working again or do i need my keys recoding to the car agian??

Is it genuine opcom?
Maybe try disconnecting the battery for half hour or so.

nope you have goosed it resetting the ecu using opcom will have put the ecu into delivery mode you will now need to get someone with geniune tech2 to reprogram the ecu into the car and set it up including recoding in the keys someone did this to a vec i was selling and i had to have this done.
opcom - vauxcom - tech2 and alike are very powerful, very usefull and very dangerous if in untrained hands

Did you get it recoded from vauxhall and how much did it cost also does anyone know a mobile mechanic around the birmingham area that might be able to recode the ecu, if not it might be a trip to vauxhall?

iv just had a look and the fault code i am getting is P1269 Immobilizer Code Not Programmed
is this gonna cost mega bucks??

By the sounds of it you have to tell the ECU the imob code,this should be a lesson to anyone programming with opcom ive done it and i learnt the hard way as i had to pay out for tech2 as it made a hash of a job

i had mine done for £80 as a forigner you will be lucky if this is aplicable to you best thing is to nip to the dealers and catch a tech on a smoke break offer him some readys to bob round and sort it after work think your gonna be looking 50 sobs minimum

Ok thanks i have got the rac to come and have a look on monday and most likely they will have to take it to vauxhall so it looks like im gonna get charged the earth but i have learnt by my mistake.

just wish i knew anyone that could do a foriegner for me for cash in hand???
