Default Way ot - pinball detailing

No I'm not mad but I do need your detailing help - so read on!

I am currently renovating a 1990s pinball machine (I collect them) and want some pointers for polishing the playfield (the bit where the ball goes).

Pinball table playfields are screen-printed onto wood with a clearcoat acrylic lacquer applied on top - about three or four coats. Additional mylar (strong plastic) sheets are added for high traffic areas.

I want to polish the playfield - it is dirty, has tiny ball swirls and is dulled - specifically on the mylar sections (it looks just like unloved car paintwork). I bought a spindle mount backing pad and yellow (medium firm) and black (super soft) sponges to complete the final part of the polishing process. I have some Autoglym Paint Renovator and SRP that I use for my Vec and want to know if I can use these products safely with a drill and pad and just 'how agressive' Paint Renovator is? I don't want to cause more damage!

Completely random I know - but should give you something to think about for a Friday!

    TIA
    Martin
