hi all had a search and couldnt find anything. could someone advise me on how to prep the chrome strip ready for me to paint please? does it need plastic primer before paint or do you just apply the paint?

you will need to rub it down a bit and buy a can of self etching primer to make the paint stick........its about £10 a can of flebay.

if you use normal primer it will peel and not look very good.

    sandpaper lol

i used light grade paper just to dull the shine a little and give the primer something to ( key ) on to, if you pop in to halfords and tell them what you intend to do they should put you in the right direction for painting on top of chrome

if your spraying with a can them i love the cans they make up for you as they have a special nozzle and spray lovly

I just used Hi-Build Paint, designed for roll bars and things, a few coats after key'ing up the chrome using some sand-paper and she didn't need any primer!
