Default dmf + clutch fixed and knocking still there

cant belive my look just got dmf , clutch kit and new starter motor costing over £700 all fitted and still have knocking

the problem is a lot better than before but theres a humming noise when i stop accelerating, but stops when i put the cluth in and theres still a knocking over 50 on the front passenger side, its a lot better but not gone

the garage reckons its the drive shaft now but i dont know

just seems as if im chucking money at this car

anyone had a similar propblem or know what it might be

    thanx

i am having my inner osf cv joint replaced on monday when they do my dmf and clutch, mine is shot to pieces.. some people find that their dmf has nailed their starter motor, but i can't guarantee that this is your fault..

btw i way i bought my replacement genuine vx cv joint from vauxhall green parts for £45 delivered, better than the £179 + vat that my vx stealer wanted.. and also better than a complete new driveshaft from the stealer at £470 + vat. Don't know about the humming noise though...

    thanx for the reply,
i heard that the starter motor could be knakered by the dual mass so i took the plunge with the repair
but i heard that they have to take the nearside driveshaft off to get to the dual mass, if thats true then maybe the garage have put it back on wrong or lost somthing off it

check with vx but for some models you have to replace the whole driveshaft but some you can just replace the parts of it like the cv joints etc..

is that the one they are now saying is knackered? how much did you pay for the cv joint 6 weeks ago, that will give you an indication of what was replaced, you can buy cheap patent CV joints for about £25 but i don't know how good they are.

sounds like they just replaced the joint then.. you can guy the patent CV joints from a well know internet auction site..

what side is supposed to have gone, is the same side you had done last month?

who knows, but they laster longer than six weeks... there are two cv joints per driveshaft though (inner and outer).. you need to know what one is at fault and know which one was recently replaced..
