Default Please help, panicing about my 2.2 dti sri

    Hi All,

Please can someone help, I drove my car home today and noticed all of a sudden that the fueld guage was not working, also that the abs & tc lights were on.

After seeing if everything else was working I noticed that the total closure is not working?

Checked all fuses and they all work fine.

I have had a mate with a cheap reader take a look but he cant find ANY codes.

Also, my display is showing F, looked under car, cant see any damage.

    Please help!

Booked into Vaux tomorrow as dont wanna drive not knowing how much fuel i have .

I havent had this car very long and love it, just hope this is a small glitch and not the start of another car riddled in 'issues'

    Thanks

    Matt

I'm sure this is a duplicate post...

    Possible options are: -

    1) Faulty alternator.

    2) Dirty abs plug (Models between 2002 and 2004 only -half canbus)

    3) Dropped Can-bus link between CIM and BCM (Lo speed Canbus wires)

I meant that the computer information link wires - called Can-bus, may have a fault upon them...poor connection or broken link.

Usually CIM module if ABS and TC.
Although the fuel gauge sender speaks via the rear electrical centre and then to the underhood module which then talks to the BCM.

Hi, been to vaux and they have said its not the alternator, ive sprayed dw40 on abs plugs and that magically the total closure is now working. Still got all the other faults with fuel guage and abs/tc. Where should I look for the Can-bus cable? Also does anyone know where I can find a diagram for all 3 fuse boxes on my car? Sent off for a new owners manual but its going to take a week!!

    Thanks

If you have Adobe Reader, then here is a link to the 2003 manual

    http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/vx/static/...traMar2003.pdf

Sorry, just tried this, and the link has gone dead.

    Default Error found!!

    Hi All,

Took my car to a local auto electrician this morning, he put it on the ramps and saw that 8 wires from fuel tank had been torn, he has repaired them and EVERYTHING is now fixed.

Im really annoyed that it was with VAUX in Basingstoke for a day and cost just under £100 and they didnt notice this, also that they tried to get the car in for 'exploatory works' at a cost of abother £100 per hour!

They did complete a vehicle examination to which I have the report, is it worth complaining?

Very happy that car is sorted thought, thanks all for your advise.

My worry is, how did you manage to have 8 wires torn out...and from where?

Should have got the electrican to photograph the damaged wires before and after, as part of the evidence to complain to Vx with.

Also from a voyeuristic point of view, would be interested to see the extent and location of the damage.

Glad it is sorted now, and apologies that I wasn't that much help.
