Default Buying car in 45mins. Your opinion sought. quick response appreciated.

Hi Guys, I'm bidding on this car on ebay at the moment which finishes in less than 40 mins.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tchlink:top:en

It's a Hyundai Getz 1.4 auto on a 2007 plate with very low milage, however it is a Cat D car although the seller is adament it has not been in an accident.

Not for me obviously but for a young relative as a birthday gift, what do you think.
    opinions appreciated.

I've purchased a vehicle report which shows its not been stolen, which is a little contradictory from the sellers story.

It also states that it was recorded by insurers as the subject of a total loss claim due to damage, contact the seller for more info.

Should I be wary, it looks like it may go at a reasonable price, but thought I'd ask your opinions, but not much time to go.

Car comes with just 1 key BTW. The Ebay vehicle report £6.99 also stated one is covered up to 10k if the deal is not genuine, but no idea how valid if any that is.

    Cheers

    i wouldn't bother with this,

It sounds like a can of worms imho, this type of car though should be fine, but suggest a check on insuring it, if they're a new driver etc..

Why do you say that, the CAT D I assume ? Car has a normal value of 4500+, do you suspect he's telling porkies about the reason for CAT-D ?

Exactly my thoughts, and it does say in the report in front of me, and it specifically States 'Subject of a total loss claim due to damage' with the added proviso to contact seller for further details.

If it had been stolen so it ended up in the said container, then would that not have been on this report as a record of being stolen.

All it says is ' Not recorded as stolen by the police'
