Default Vectra C Cruise Control Drops Out

Hi, I have a 2007 plated Vectra C Elite automatic, 2.2ltr petrol. I have had the car for 2 years now and it’s great. In the past few days the cruise control has kept switching itself off. Car can run for few seconds or a few mins in cruise control before it happens. Using the indicators can trigger the drop out but most of the time it just drops out without me touching anything (except the steering wheel of course). There has been no noticeable deterioration in performance or any other changes. Has anyone run across this before? I am hopping it’s a relatively simple fix.
    Thanks
    Dogsbodyone

I had this a long time ago, was occuring intermittently but it suddenly resolved itself
The CIM was replaced and it may have been caused by that as it never happened again after that

my 2004 did the same, i tried the fix on here (look in the how2s) and it did not work, i ended up buying a second hand stalk off ebay for £15 and it fixed the problem, so far

lads how about taking the cheap option first and checking for a weak clutch pedal spring, if the pedal drops a fanny's hair it can knock the c/c off too

This is not an option for the OP, as he is driving an Automatic.

Generally do things in cost order as follows: -

Check / replace clutch spring (where fitted), no known issues with brake pedal springs.
    Check / replace C.C stalk,
Check / replace CIM module. - silly expensive!!!

Thanks guys, I have always had problems with the indicator. I can never get it to indicate properly normally going up the motorway indicating left and right as I try and get it to cancel not to mention trying to get it to continuously indicate when turning as opposed to changing lanes. You never know, may resolve those problems also.

Problematic Indicators....points directly toward a CIM fault.

Sorry, but prepare for an expensive garage bill.

Thats true but there also the brake pedal switch too, you have only got to clip the pedal to de-activate the c/c not ruling out the cim though, just a thought.
