Air con on the blink?

Looking for a few suggestions guys (and gals! ).

A few days ago I got into the vectra to find a huge puddle in the front passenger footwell (also, the air con is not now working). First thought was - There's a leak in the coolong system, so went out a got a sealant. Added that to the system, just realising at the same time that the level wasn't actually down (and there was no smell coming from the puddle). Did a bit of 'googling' and then checked the pollen filter, cleared a pile of leaves and checked all the fuses. Since joining the forum (today) and looking at a couple of other posts, am I right in thinking that the air-con system is seperate from the coolong system. If so, how would I go about checking this, can it be fixed with sealant, or is this really a job for vauxhall?

Have you checked ALL the fuses - there's a fusebox at the end of the dash & one in the engine compartment

No, the vents aren't blowing, although I think I can hear a light click when I try to turn them on. Thought this was perhaps some kind of safety cut-out, when the system was empty, to prevent the unit from going. Problem is, if this is a seperate system from the cooling system in the engine, I wouldn't know where to fill/top it up, to see if that was the problem.

Yes, I've checked them all, for any fuse to do with air-con, cooling, ventilation, etc.

The aircon system has a shut off switch if the oil level gets to low, it is a diff system and can be topped up albeit proffesionally i would recommend, or kwik fit do it for £40 i think

But it does have a shut off valve

Sorry I meant do the heaters blow? Is it just the ac not working?
