how easy is it toi change the tailgate light to a smoked one? also where is the best place to get one from and roughly how much are they?

takes about 5 min a side mate you can get them off ebay seen a few on there

from what i have heard they can be a nightmear to get the old light out and fitting the new one

i'm sure theres a how2 on here, but cant find it. from memory, you remove the tailgate trim & locate where the light is, there should be a few indentations on the inside of where the light is fixed, you need to drill through these to allow you to then push it out from inside. you shouldnt prise it out from the outside as you will most definitely damage the paintwork.

ive seen a light for sale on fleabay, was £20.99 when i last looked, but i think new ones from the stealers are somewhere around the £30 mark, but dont quote me!

I may be wrong here but i'm sure you use an old credit card cut up and shove bits of the card all the way round the light but I have never personally done it

hmmm, not heard that one before, but it could work. I've seen something similar done with metal wedges used to get a locked manhole cover up, worked a treat, so no reason why the above method wouldn't work, worth a try.

when i changed mine, i had to pretty much smash the old one out. Just prize it gently with a knife (cover paintwork first tho) take your time and you'll lever it out eventually.........good luck
