Default Replacing Headunit - Will I loose display

    Hey guys,

Going to remove my cd30 at the weekend and replace with a JVC avx44 but need to know if i will loose my info display.

I am not sure what type of adaptor cable to get but looks like i will need 2. One for the ISO connectors and one for the steering wheel controls. Does anyone know if i will loose my display if i do this (bits accessed with scroller on left of wheel, avg mileage etc.)

Also does anyone know for deffo the size of the front door speakers on the C. I have an expensive component kit fitted in my veccy B i want to try to get into the C

When I replaced mine with a JVC I bought the ISO connector loom and also a steering wheel control unit with a JVC stalk unit adapter.

I haven't lost the ability to scroll between range, inst. consumption etc but have lost the ability to change the date / time and since I disconnected the battery my car thinks it's May 2007!!!

You may also need the amplified radio connector, I think it's a Fakra to Iso amplified lead so your radio still works fully.

Cheers bud. I have the iso connector but not the steering wheel adaptors but ok without it for now. Having to live with the CD30 is killing me lol. Need loud music and my ipod connected haha.

Depends on your headunit, I'm not familiar with the JVC units, but my Alpine unit is compatible with the Vectra screen (although you have to buy another adaptor for it), so I get all the track info etc on the original Vec screen from my Alpine unit.

I lost my display but can change date and time via the trip computer, Other problems you might face are I had to run another live from the glovebox light to power the unit and removing the standard radio - dont buy halfords removal tool as it is s**t and does not release the clips, i found this out to my expense when i broke the old unit trying to force it out! Also my door speakers put out a really nice loud sound now that i am sending some decent power to them!(any louder would break the windows) so give yours a try before spending £££ (dunno if mine where upgraded as I have a Elite) Good luck!

4 small drill bits works fine for me to get the radio out lol. If i hooked up my component amp to the original speakers i guess it would melt them haha. Going to be running a real 300 watts RMS to each door and then 2000 rms to my subs. Had the set up in my vec B and it was awesome. Turned the car to jelly and made the interior trim fall apart lol.
