    Default 2.2 direct limp home mode

    my 2.2 direct has gone into limp mode wont rev above 3000 rpm, had a mobile mechanic to read codes but said there were none, he said the car with spanner light ment it is emissions so any one got any ideas please.

    Take it to a dealer and ask them to check the fuel pressure regulator recall on your car. Could be a free fix for you!

    i had a new fuel pressure regulator about 8 months ago but that gave a p0190 code (i think) when it went but this time no codes

    I have read that sometime it gives no error code, its worth a trip to the dealer though. Lets just hope its not your fuel pump.

    Nope, the emmisions light is the pic of the engine block.

    well i hope its not the fuel pump, and my nearest dealer is about 20 miles away with lots of steep hills and a duel carriageway, and at 10-30 mph its a bit scary. ill try to get it to a small indie garage close by to see if they can diagnose the problem

    cheers doughy just called a garage and they said bring it down in the morning, i hope its just the egr or an o2 sensor or some thing cheap dont fancy paying big £££ for a fuel pump

    car went to 2 garages today first didnt know what was wrong 2nd garage said they think its the timing chain has slipped, so i got it booked in to dealer on thursday. not looking forward to the trip. fingers crossed ill get there and then they can give me the bad news!!!
