Yes, but make sure they are quoting for the correct grade of oil
Alternatively, you can supply the oil
An interim service is quite comprehensive, not just checking the levels, but should include checking the suspension and replacing the pollen filter
Typical cost is £150 plus VAT
See the front section of your service book for details
If your car is still under warranty, then you should follow the standard intervals, but you can of course add additional services, but there is little benefit
My car is on 30K miles / 2 years service intervals, although the indicator usually only gets as far as 20K miles
Now that the warranty has expired I am ensuring the services are every 20K miles, and from the end of this year I am swapping to a thicker synthetic oil with reduced oil change intervals of 10K miles
yeah sounds about right changed my oil and filter the other day cost £42 for the oil £10 ish for the the other bits sump plug, filter.
I get my oil & filter done every 6 months or so at my local National Tyres.... costs around the £40 I think for Castrol Magnatec.
Thanks guys i'll use vauxhall then
I too had a interim oil and filter change on my previous BMW done using National Tyre's cheap oil offer. Cost just £30,60 for Castrol Edge 5/30 fully Synthetic, I can't even buy the oil for that price. (The recommended oil for most late BM cars)
It's a very good deal, as long as the guy you get doing it knows what he is doing, as they do have a few idiots working for them, but luckily I had no problems at all. I think even they can just about manage a simple oil change. Not worth doing it yourself with prices that cheap IMO.
The Filters they use are made by Unipart, though I supplied a genuine BMW filter which he fitted instead, when I compared them their filter looked identical to me.

I paid 40 quid at my local garage for a oil n filter change on my cdti, at that price it aint worth the hastle of doing it yaself!
do mine every 5k on the drive with some ramps, change everything air, fuel, oil and oil with semi synth and flush first with wynns engine flush total cost around £30. engine run sweet. do the same with my works 1.7tdi 51 reg astra van, just starting its 150,000 mile and running sweet. for the money and an hour it well worth it.
70-80 quid, think yourself lucky, my local stealers in december quoted me 140 quid for oil and filter change and a visual inspection of the brakes and fluids, which you can bet they would have found a problem with, needless to say i serviced it myself in the end, plugs ,oil and filter 5w 30 synthetic, air filter and pollen filter and all for 60 quid....they should wear striped jumper and masks....
I would've thought 70-80 quid is a bargain at a dealer. My local independent want 65 quid for fluid change service, using fully synthetic. I remember my old B costing me nearly 200 quid for the same service when I first bought that! Made a promise to myself then never to let the dealer near my car again!!
