Default Help doing the £1 inlet manifold fix...

Right, so ive got the rod out of the engine now, can see where it has worn and come adrift from the ball studs on the inlet manifold. So i went to b & q on my way home from work and got these washers which are the same size as mentioned in the how 2. Now to me they dont look right but i got them anyway, are they supposed to be bigger than the actual bushing type things on the swilr rod? anyhow here's a pic of the washers i got hopefully someone who has done this will advise as to if they are right or wrong, also included is pics if the bushes on the rod so you can see where and how they wear away forcing it to come unatatched.

right ok, ive glued the new washers on to the rod now, how the hell do u get it back on the manifold now?? now i noticed all the ball studs are not in line with each other so i assume i will have to correct that so they line up with the rod, did anyone have to take the injectors out or anything to get it back on?? if not how did u do it?

only one of the flaps is motorised, the other 3 should move freely and allow you to line them up with the motorised one? I suppose they could be clogged up with soot tho.

NO you dont have to but its fiddly! just keep trying to wiggle it in!, use the 3rd one from the left as a guide then with a screwdriver turn the others to line up with the rod and push down, try from right to left!.
