Thats quite common. When the flywheel breaks up bits enter the starter motor. Soon after that it dies.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

It depends on the condition of the clutch but if its worn than change it and save on labour time at a later date. I'd guess at £600 maybe more for the lot including labour. Some have had it done so hopefully they will be along with a better guess at cost.

I bought a dmf and clutch separately from the bay for £275, I am having them fitted next monday for £150 cash.. In with that price he is also changing my OSF inner CV joint which i picked up for £45 delivered (genuine gm part). If you hunt around you can pick up a bargain but seeing as yours is already needing to go in you do not have the luxury of time.. I have driven 10k on my rattling dmf since it was diagnosed by vx last summer before deciding to swap it out with parts i bought in back in december..
