    Default Oil Pressure Solenoid Switch

I have a suspected faulty oil pressure solenoid switch. The oil levels and seals check out fine, however just recently I have been getting an oil warning light coming on, on my 2002 2.2Sri DTi. Occasionally it comes on and then goes out after switching off the ignition and doesn't come on again for sometimes weeks later. On one occasion I had the engine management light come on and it went into limp mode for a brief period. It has been on the conmputer at the main dealer and they can't diagnose that it is the oil pressure solenoid switch at fault unless the warning light is perminantly on. Should I wait for it to fail if ever and get it sorted then or just have it replaced next service. I was also wondering if it is an easy job to do yourself and how much the sensor might cost?

    Default Still got problems

I still have this problem, although learnt to live with it. Starting to become a pain now especially on long journeys.
I have bought a new switch and I am going to attempt to try and replace it myself. It isn't however where I thought it was at the front of the engine. Does anyone know where this switch is located?

Could it be at the back of the engine?.

On the Y22DTR engine its on the front of the sump next to the oil level sensor.
