Default PLEASE HELP! CDTI 150 Power loss problem

Hi, My car is losing power about 1500rpm makes no difference if the engine is warm)
    I've checked the following:-
    - EGR - clean, and so is the MAP sensor
    - K&N panel filter has been cleaned and re-oiled (filter box is emptied)
    - The DPF has cleared its gunk out the other day,
    - Swirl valves appear to be fine
"Caterman" box has been removed to see if there's any problems with that (havent checked on that yet)
    - Oil change to Castol Edge 5w 30 within last 2 months - and annual service not due for another 4 months

    and its returning 46MPG....
but there is still a loss of power upon accelorating about 1500 rpm!

any suggestions before i pull ALL my hair out?!!!!

    cheers

How do you know the EGR is clean..? Did you take it apart and check the solenoid operation etc..?

3rd Injector issues can cause this also (along with some slight misfire symptoms too) - are yours blue or yellow injector plugs..?

What do you swirl valves "look" like, are they clean or are the covered in gunk..?

Thanks for getting back to me!
I cleaned the EGR the other week along with the MAP sensor - the solenoid works fine as far as I can tell
    They're yellow injector plugs.
The swirl valves are clutter free - no gunk

I'll look up advice on here regarding the 3rd injector and see if any of the problems sound familiar.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that the engine seems to pull fine at lower speeds i.e. between gears 1-3, but not the higher gears 4-6
Also, I use millers ecomax (aka sport4) on a regular basis, so I would hope that would keep some engine parts running smoothly, but are there any other additives anyone would recommend as well as that, perhaps injector cleaners

    cheers!

Another thing is that sometimes these additives/cleaners can clog up the fuel filter, some have had this happen and rectified with a new filter added.

Not thought of that! I'll see if I check the fuel filter?!

However, there was a new on fitted August '09 during its last service, so i'd hope its not clogged up just yet!

Try cleaning the boost sensor and the throttle body, a guide in the how 2 section will help you. also if the solenoid on the EGR has'nt been parted and cleaned ots a must!.

The MAP sensor (or boost sensor is to the left of the egr)
    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88845
-thats a thread about cleaning it, I always clean that the same time as my EGR as they're so close!
The DPF (diesel particulate filter) isnt fitted to all cars, I think all estates and signums have them as they're heavier cars - there should be several threads on here about the DPF.

Oh believe me it can be. Mine went from beige to BLACK as sin in 9 months. Experienced problems after 3 days of using injector cleaner. Replace the fuel filter...it's not expensive
