Default Fancy a cheap Camera for your car ? One here

Thought someone on here may be interested in this posting I came across on one of the motoring forums, ideal if you fancy having a small camera secured in/on your car. Very cheap too, and from the images in the video link the quality does'nt look bad either especially for the low price.

Hope the guy forgives me for pitching his pics, it was a open public forum however.

went to a big pistonheads meet last weekend with a mate who had just bought one of these below..

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350329862798&ssPageNam e=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I was quite amazed by the size of it and even more amazed at how much they were, loving the idea i ordered two, thinking one facing back one faccing forward or one on the sill one on the roof etc you get the idea, anyway i was told the picture quality was reasonably good and for a tenner hell what do you expect, even if it falls off LOL!!, he pointed me to a clip taken with one of these cameras, here it is below..

very good i thinks...anyway i ordered them on sunday evening they arrived today from Hong Kong.. , superb that, just waiting for the cards to come now, on one charge with a 4 mb memory card you get 35/40 mins of footage which will be great for using on track days or whatever, hope to get some great shots on the SPA track day we are doing in May, below is a few places where ill stick the thing, quite simply its screwed to one of the supplied mountings and then you can just tape it to the car where you want it, it weighs nothing and some black masking tape will secure it well enough, happy days...

Yes I thought they looked quite good too, just over a tenna with free postage sounds a bit too cheap does'nt it.. to be any good were my thoughts initially.
Anyway I decided it's worth a punt at that price so I've ordered a couple of them, as long as that video was indeed taken on one of these same camera's they should be quite good for the price.

Ideal for when one's screaming round the N/ring at 150mph...lol.

Another video here using one of these cams.

Dont forget you also need a micro sd memory card for this camera, quite cheap though at £6 for a 4gb one. I ordered mine from here.

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

I notice they also do the 8gb version for just over £11. (dearer than the camera..lol)

There's quite a few of the guys on the motoring forums purchased these for mounting on their cars, and they seem to give it a thumbs up.

Possibly worth a punt I think.

I've always been looking at these sorts of thing, but I'm holding out for a solution where I can fit one to say my rear view mirror and one on my rear windscreen that I can set to continuously record and overwrite the footage, and wire it up to be powered off the car battery. Would be brilliant for footage of roadrage / evidence in case of an accident etc.

Incidentally what name do you use to post on pistonheads, as I've recently been frequenting that forum too.

Wow that's really good technology for a tenner if the video is legit!

I'd say that's perfect for road rage incidents and captures the sound too so you can hear what they have to say when they admit fault at the road but deny it later on!

Just needs to be wired up like someone mentioned above so it can continually record and power from the battery.

I've got one of these cameras, bought it from one of these gadget shops, the picture is great and the youtube clip does reflect the quality of the actual video captured!
