Lol ok then I take it that it can programme/ change anything? Just a thought. Lol thanks for the quick reply. But I do know someone who has one but could I do more harm than good?

Tech 2 is thee Vaxhall diagnostic tool / programmer, in the hands of the untrained, and many times the trained,
(Some Vauxhall main dealers) unless you know what you are doing, you will create more problems that you solve.
A LITTLE knowledge is a DANGEROUS thing.
The potential is that you could totally mis-program you vehicle...just consider resetting the CIM and immobilzer system - easily done...the car will not start...at least until totally reprogrammed.
Tech 2 is very complex in so far as many modules have to be programme to achieve each outcome...
No disrespect to Vx technicians, but many of them who use Tech 2 run into all sorts of programming difficulties...despite being highly trained.
Compared to the Astra and the Corsa...the Vectra and the Insignia are VERY complex beasts with far too many modules on them.
So yes...with the correct codes, you can kill the car completely, however if you know what your are doing, Tech 2 is all seeing and ALL programming ...
How does op com differ from tech 2 ?
tech two has been out dated now for 4 months so they will be on ebay cheap now ...tech three is fully operational ....well almost lol like most vx things it has taken its time to be fully up and running but it is almost there .....tech 3 uses a web based system to diag problems on the new insignia and astra j .....it now has a tech 2 emulator so all the old cars can now be tech tested via a laptop not much different from opcom .....and all cars can be progrmed via the net ....
opcom is ok for the diy mechanic .....opcom is a program ....tech 2 is a hand held unit that has its own vx systems inside
Can you do any damage with opcom then?
