Default 3.0 V6 CDTi SRi springs : Are they "uprated"?

When my V6 was in getting its oil/filter change this week ( at Arnold Shark ) when we picked it up we were informed that one of the rear springs had cracked at the base and needed replacing.

Am I right in thinking the CDTi SRi has lowered/uprated springs compared to other model Vec's?. If so, anyone got a part number and price I should expect to pay?.

    Ta.

can only answer the first part ..that indeed the sri are sport springs.....best they change both while their at it .
and has been know for A/C to fit the wrong type of springs...so I would measure your existing ones ...gaps

Cheers. Now, if I could get that part number that would be perfect!.

Won't be going back to Arnold, they were hopeless and clueless at the same time. I reckon if it was put in there to get the springs done they would definitely fit the wrong ones, I'd stick my mortgage on that.

Which Arnold Clark are you having problems with?
The main issue is their lack of experience on the 3.0 V6 CDTI, otherwise I am not having any problems

They are 15mm lower than the rest of the range. Also not really uprated, but they will need to be of the correct "weight" for your model.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I agree, it's not "uprated", the "sports suspension" is defined as "lowered and stiffened"
I have only ever owned Vectra with the "sports suspension", the standard suspension is just too soft!

I've not yet used the VX dealership in Stirling, it's not that easy for me to get to/from (ironic for Cumbernauld)
Equally, they provided incorrect information on two quotes for services, and for those reasons I have never used it

If you are looking for an Arnold Clark VX dealership with experience of the Y30DT, then Glasgow South is the one you want
Present your Arnold Clark card and ask them to add it to your account details, so that you don't need to present it again
There are now at least three other people with the Y30DT using this dealership now, two of us have had cambelt changes

Personally I would replace with a set of eibachs, instead of standard sri springs. Will work out cheaper in long run and improve handling

I read about these Eibachs, anyone got a link to where to buy a set of the correct ones?. I think I'd be better going for them.
