door hinge/pins

hi,im a newbeeee owner of an 03 vectra 2.2dti,first problem i have is a lot of play in the drivers door hinges top & bottom,went today to local vauxhall dealer to buy pins,was quoted £30.56 for 1..............first thought jesus...............for 1 pin,then the parts guy told me you have to buy the complete hinge................why,i just need the pins not the hinge & then you have to paint them(more money i dont need to spend) does anyone on here know if/where i can buy just the pins or do i really have to buy the complete hinge

Each door is held on to the hinge with a grub screw. Remove each grub screw, undo the tork bolt holding the check link and disconnect the electrics. The door will then lift off the hinge. try this to see what is worn and i might be fit to get new pins made
