Default will it let me control the iPhone

So if one installs the mki 9000, and get that going, say when playing music, will the mki unit takeover my iphone's interface, or will I still be able to use the iPhone's touch screen to flick through albums, select playlists, change tracks etc

    Cheers

I installed an MKi9000 in mine and it worked fine (although I had some issues with the iPod dock connection not working correctly... Parrot claimed it wasn't a known fault, probably a one-off).

I also tried an MKi9200 and am currently using an iO Play. I found it difficult to get information about the different options so I've written up a basic comparison of the features on my blog: http://dandr.org/2010/02/podcasts-in-the-car/. In the blog post I mention that if you have an MKi9100 or 9200 they *will* take over your iPod interface and you won't be able to use it. The MKi9000 doesn't.

I need to get round to posting about how I found each of them. The summary is that the MKi9000 was my favourite other than the issue with the iPod dock.

While we're talking about using units like the MKi9000 that bypass the built-in amp... Occasionally when I'm not using my iO Play and the standard headunit is playing a CD or a radio, the sound is distorted. Turning the ignition off and on doesn't cure it, but it's never hung around for more than a journey or two. Has anyone else had this? Is it something to watch out for, or just my car?
