More chance the original meaning of GTS was Gran Tourismo Sport, methinks.

Not looked at the ad myself, but perchance does the word 'rare' appear ? Seems a standard in the bay to list just about anything as rare....

the GTS is actually equivalent to the SRi in the UK

the yellow T means it is for (from) a 2.0T model, whereas all other GTS models didn't have it, at least here

in the UK the GSi stands for the 3.2v6 hatchback model, right?

if that is so then there is nothing equivalent to that in Europe.., we just call them 3.2v6

I500 is the GSi over the pond. I think there 3.2 is just a GTS engine choice. They didnt really carry it on (I500) onto the C. If you look on German ebay for I500 it comes up with Vec B V6 stuff.

EDIT: darko2301 beat me to it.

    Vehicle : Opel Vectra GTS

    Trim : Elegance

    Engine : 2.2 DTi 16V

    Year : 2003

    Mileage : 75 000

"GTS" actually stands for "Grand Tourism Sport" or some say "Grand Tourism Sedan", but the GTS were originally the only hatchback models (from 2002 to 2004), so the first designation is most probably the correct one.

It really is the GSi equivalent in continental Europe : different bumpers design with round fog lights and lower spoilers, limited turning ability to comply with wider wheels, harder an lowered (2 cm) suspensions, and engines originally starting with 2.0 petrol (up to 3.2 V6) and turbo-diesel from 2.2 DTi up to 3.0 V6 CDTi (first CDTi engine on the Veccy).

And of course, they were all hatchback, and the only models to be so. Shortly before the facelift models were produced, however, a few standard Vectra C were made using the hatchback body.

Opel GTS and vauxhall GSi parts are fully compatible.
