Different approach to interior customising

After seeing countless threads on carbon wrapping, (all of which are nice)
I decided i wanted to do something different. Something that should i find horible once done, it could be changed.

So after giving some thought on how my car looked outside, i came up with some key colours. Obviously silver... chrome red and satin black.

So with chrome being a bad idea in a cockpit, and silver already being an overwhelming colour, i decided on spraying the items below in satin black, but with a small red trim around the edge.

What i mean is the entire central console (CD player/radio, hazard light buttons and other surrounding buttons, the little compartment below the cd player, the ciggy lighter surround the push to open compratment and the gear stick surround. A red line around that entire area. Which will then continue onto the long strip on the dash which is also satin black, and onto the door strips (WHICH I NEED HELP REMOVING

Here is it at the moment. CD player needs spraying, and the gear stick surround needs putting back in along with the side buttons


How do you remove this ******!?

They're held on by loads of plastic rivets, you would have to take the door panel off and break the heads off them all and glue the strip back on. Mine will be satin black shortly, because mine are odd due to putting a leather interior in.

looks good mate. if you want to remove the silver strips on the door you will need to take the door card off as they are held on with plastic rivets which need cutting off.

Cheers guys. I noticed once all the parts were back in that they are exactly the same as the button surrounds that are on the steering wheel. The red line will be make or break. I think it will look good but thats for tomorrow. Want these to fully cure before attempting it, as i will be doing it in the car so need to make sure EVERYTHING is covered including seats and carpets.

The silver strip along the dash is clipped into place. The clips are mounted to the rear of the strip.
Start at the passenger door end... insert something quite strong and plastic (so as not to damage the strip) under the lower edge of the strip and gently lever the strip straight out from the dash surface. As the strip starts to come away from the dash, move along the strip.

Already done the dash one matey was ust the door ones i couldn't do.

Just the cd player and 2 door strips to do black before the red comes out to play

It's certainly interesting. I think you're right though, the red is what's going to make or break it. I hope, after the effort that's going into it, that it works for you. Looking forward to seeing the result.
