Broadband connection problem help

Evening all, today i have tried to fit a BT Accelerator socket to the master phone socket, this is meant to speed up the internet connection.
Now upon fitting i lost my internet connection, i have a Belkin router, i got a flashing orange symbol of the world when it should be green.
I have since removed this accelerator but still i have this flashing orange light.
All of the cables are connected correctly, i have even tried new cables to no avail & even checked the phone socket cables for damage but nothing.
Now i do have the phone working so i am lost as to where the problem lies, it cant be the router as this was working perfectly well before hand.
I have also looked on BT website for outages in my area but there is nothing.
Idea's welcome please.

How did you post this if your internet isn't working?? lol Sorry, had to be the first one in there! Hope someone can help you mate

Have you turned the router off, left it for 5 mins then turned it on again?

Push the re-set button on the router hth .........................

lol, at work now. Router has been reset to default & left off for 20 mins tried the reset button but nothing.

Did you just 'press' it or hold it in till the lights start doing something - usually after 10seconds???

Sounds to me the router cant connect with the exchange for some reason.

Print this off & try it one step at a time.
Belkin are very helpful on the phone if you still don't get it to work hth ..............
