Default recurring juddering symptom- read on -inlet manifold?

After a week or two, my car gets sluggish and holds back a bit on acceleration. On deceleration, in gear, and dropping in revs, it has an annoying judder (minor, but noticable). and decelerates rather quick.

Now and then I take the intercooler pipe off the right side of the intake manifold, and then enter a good dose of carburettor cleaner into the intake manifold past the throttle body, and also a good dose of carburettor cleaner direct onto the swirl pots from the top of the engine, then put back together.

Always get a good dose of white cloudy smoke out of the exhaust as the manifold clears through the exhaust.

After this technique, the car runs, accelerates, nice and smooth, requires less pedal to accelerate, and then also on deceleration in gear, it does not decelerate so suddenly, and no judder.

So, conclusion it is a gumming up inlet manifold?!?

How can I do a really good permanent clean on this, or is it only to be resolved by a inlet manifold replacement?

Would this not be a sticking EGR at fault...?

What state are your swirl tops in??

Mines has developed a slight judder around 2,000rpm, hiccups between 2-3000rpm, and doesnt have the peakiness it once had, as said most likely the EGR valve as the swirl flaps wont cause juddering, they usually cause alot of smoke either low down or high up the rev range depending how they are stuck open - which means you can get away with for a bit but then it may start going into limp mode.

Right, had cleared the juddering yesterday.

Went up to birmingham and back today, cruise control all the way, now back on roads at 30 mph with gear changes, it is juddering again..

If the swirls are covered in oily gunk and just messy, then the manifold wants changing (£170 or less on ebay) along with a new inlet manifold gasket and a new style fiat EGR semi blanking gasket and you should be 100%.
