I can't believe you understood it that way, even after I replied to your PMs, Alin Bogdan replied here and we told you the complete opposite.
    Well, maybe you know better.

    Hello everyone!
It was not clear to me
Can this mod work if there is no digital broadcasting in my country
Will the DAB unit send a signal to the cdc40 opera signal to mute?

    please, any information
    sorry for my bad english
    Thanks a lot, everyone!

It will work even without the signal. That's how it works on my car.

    Thanks for the answer!
Did you put a switch? or just pierced the AUx connector in the wiring?

Just do not see the point in the switch if there is no digital broadcasting.

    Thank you!

I tried before by the aux in port I had was awful and difficult to wire.

    Thanks

Hi folks sorry to drag this up again, ive basically done this without the switch, cut the dab audio and ground cables just short of the stereo connector block and soldered a 3.5mm jack to them instead, the audio from phone is playing but very faint as someone else said earlier in the post, can anyone give an answer as to what ive done wrong! My dab box is one of these that has crashed when they tried a new dab signal and ive never had it fixed, could that be the problem? Thanks for any info!

The DAB module needs to have a working signal otherwise you will not get sound. When there is no signal the sound is muted on the stereo itself.
To get the DAB module working it just needs to have the module reset via Tech2.
Once your module is working and has a signal the sound should pass through.

Has anyone ever changed headunits from say a CD30 to a CD40 Opera but the car already had an OEM AUX input? Obviously upgrading the HU will make the factory AUX useless so i'm curious if this mod will make the original AUX work again?

    Thanks...

Tools needed: radio removal tool, torx driver, drill & bits, soldering ion & solder
Parts needed: 3 pole change over switch (I used 4 pole as I had one), 3.5mm stereo socket, heatshrink tubing, wire & insulating tape.

    Procedure:
    1. Remove radio using the removal tools
    2. Remove large connector by releasing the black swing out clamp and also remove aerial connector (easier to work with it out the way)
    3. Cut the DAB L, DAB R & DAB GND wires about 300mm from the connector and solder wires to both ends (see picture above). Protect with heatshrink. Wires should by 500mm long
    4. Identify wires: I stripped back the wires going to the connector
    5. Tape up the wires with insulating tape
    6. Remove the glove box (2 torx screws on bottom & 3 torx screws on top)
    7. Drill holes for switch and stereo socket (see picture below)
    8. Feed wires through from radio hole to back of glove box compartment
    9. Fit switch and stereo connector to glove box
    10. Solider stripped wires to center of 3 pole switch
    11. Solder remaining 3 wires to one side of switch
    12. Solder wires from the other side of the switch to the stereo connector. Use heatshrink tubing to protect wires. (see picture
    13. Replace glove box and radio
    14. Turn on DAB and move switch for DAD / iPod
    15. Enjoy your music!

PS I put the switch and stereo connector in the glove box to keep it out of sight and it was the easiest location to work in... You could use a changeover stereo connector and not have the switch but I think it better to have the switch to change from DAB to Aux and leave the 3.5mm cable connected...

I did it in the Astra, but had no joy, needs to be a headunit that takes the aux I’m just waiting to get a few bit back to fit the dab in it
