    Default Y30DT 3.0 V6 CDTI cambelt change

Could someone please give me the FULL service details or reference on TIS for a cambelt change
I want to present this to my local dealership and have a SERIOUS argument with them

I have now asked four different dealerships about what they actually do during a cambelt change on this engine, although they have all quoted the same labour time of 6 hours
One questioned 6 hours and came back advising it may only be 3 hours
However, one answered the question correctly, listing the cambelt PLUS the additional work that is required after fitting a new cambelt

We all know the cambelt change can be performed and completed in 2 hours, so what is the other 4 hours for (and member Celes, be quiet as you know the answer as well now!)?

Failure to complete this additional work almost certainly causes the blocked SCV issue
Equally, since other people have reported they have had a cambelt change and then this same blocked SCV issue within 6 months I believe there is enough evidence for VX to wake up and put an advisory to all dealerships about this

Hope this helps? I don't really know how to use tis but this is all I can see. As yet I haven't seen any notes refering to further work.

Interesting that it is 5 hours
The details only show 2 rollers, there are 3 (one tension, two guide)
My dealership cut some time by removing the air filter housing, giving better access to the area, although they could have refitted it properly!

Perhaps the revised cambelt procedure is in a service bulletin (like the one for the blocked SCV)?

There could well be 3 rollers included. I may have missed one off as you have to select the bits yourself when adding up the times. It would add another half hour or so to the job.

    Default

    J435200 = 1.3 hours
That makes the total slightly over 6 hours

My dealership managed it in 4 hours, makes me wonder how members here manage it in just 2 hours (although no stopping for tea breaks and interuptions probably!)

As above, see if there is a field remedy for cambelt

I cannot see anything but then you don't really search like that. I cannot see anything at all other than a replacement for the cambelt. No notes etc relating to anything else - it could just be me though.
