Default Noticable power loss from cold (Glowplugs ?)

    Hey .

Been a bit quiet as Ive been working on the missus a4 so been on other ( much poorer) Audi forums .

jumped back in my veccy this morning and there was definately less power in the first 10 - 20 miles until the engine warmed then back to normal. I have noticed this before but since the car is now running very well with no hesitation flat spots etc it is more noticeable.

I have done a search but cannot find the answer to these questions.

At what temp will the pre and post heating occur and can glow plugs be rubbish without throwing up the eml light as other people have posted?

The car starts ok not as soon as you touch the key but a couple of revs of the crank and it's away.

    Thanks people

All the glowplugs do is help with the starting. Nothing else.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I have the same problem. The flat spot under 2000 rpm is present only until the engine reaches 75-80 C. After that the car drives better. If I take out the EGR the flat spot disappears. So I bet you have a tired EGR solenoid as well.
