Default Sunny Tyres - anyone else had these?

    Hi Guys,

Having already paid out over a grand this year on the Vectra I really had little money to spend on tyres for the GSI. But as I was running on slicks I had to get them changed today or risk being pulled over and fined.

I have gone for 215/50/17 W tyres from Sunny! £125 all in for the two fronts. They where not the cheapest option but are the cheapest W rated available.

They look nice as far as tread patterns go! And they are not any noisier than the expensive Goodyears I had on before.

Have I made a huge mistake or is it £80 well saved as times are tough!

    Paul

For normal driving you aint gonna see much difference in any tyre to be honest, never had Sunnys personally but had Wanli's before (very similar to Sunnys) and the wife has Wanli's on her Laguna and IMO they are a good tyre, quiet, grip well and so far are lasting well.

I'll have to see how I get on... I've only gone for well known brands in the past but I'm hoping that under normal driving there should only be a marginal difference. Will be interested to see how they handle in the rain - but don't want to wish away the lovely sunshine we have today!

You get what you pay for imo. Never had sunnys but had wanlis on my old 328ci - on the rear - and it was just plain dangerous in the wet.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I had them all round on a 330d Sport and they were fine, could handle the torque no problem.

I have these fitted to the back of mine as get-you-by tyres until I fit my snowflakes. I'll be fitting some onto the flakes too I think

I have four Sunews (same thing? ) on my GSi and they are fine. Not the sharpest for steering and response but nice and grippy, very quiet on the road and even look pretty cool! Plus £60-odd each too...
