    Default 1.9cdti Cam belt change

Hi im looking at buying a 1.9cdti sri 150 with 90,000 on the clock, It has a full history but i dont know if its a vauxhall history or other garage (going down on friday) the dealer didnt know if the cam belt had been done without checking but was just off out with another customer so i said i would check when i went down. If it hasnt been done what is the recommended change milage? Im hoping its just been done.
Also is there anything thats likely to go wrong at this mileage. Im hoping that all the usual stuff that happens to these has already happened at this mileage as they all seem to be lower mileage cars that have had all the problems. I hope this makes sense to some people

    cheers, martin.

If no one knows, especially you, when the cambelt has been done, get it done anyway, chances are it hasn't been done, never assume its been done i say.

cambelt change for a 1.9cdti is 100k or 10 years which ever sooner. So at 90k it would not have been done if the previous owner stuck to the normal service schedule. I would suggest having it done as well as the water pump

Cambelt is recommended at 80/4 years, personally I would change it immediately as its on ite last legs.

Vauxhall reduced the service interval for the CDTI cambelt a few times and I believe the 80k interval is pushing it a bit.

I was only in my dealers last week and they confirmed 100k. Always been 100k/10 years. Where does the 80k 4 years come from? the 120?

Recently had the 80k service and VX recommended that i change that cam belt, as they recommend 90k. I was going to ask for it anyway, belt, rollers, tensioner etc. All in £320 from a VX main dealer. Apparantly the water pump is on the other side????

    Cheers.

Well that a load of tosh from the dealer. The waterpump is run by the cambelt so it is the same side. 100k is VX recommended timing belt change. And even better the price should be £250 (this is my local VX dealer price which should be the same everywhere, lol) plus waterpump and waterpump fitting

Not sure I would a dealer who says the waterpump is on the other side of car. We are on about the CDTi 150 arnt we?

Service book and I have heard this a few times on here. Would you let run to 100k/10 years?
