    Question 2.2 direct idle speed

I have a signum 2.2 direct that i have only had for a week ! and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the idle speed should be when warmed up? i notice that mine is running at about 600 rpm which seems on the low side, it occasionally drops back to about 500 when stopping at traffic lights etc with lots of electrical things on

If it's too low i'll get it adjusted when it goes in for a service
I have heard stories about the timing chain snapping on these engines so i'll get that inspected at the same time i think as it sounds a little rattly are there any tell tale signs it's about to go ?

    Many thanks

Should be about 650-700 mate. Give the TB a clean.

Throttle body mate. Take the intake off, hold the butterfly open and give it good clean with a toothbrush and some carb cleaner. It should also help keep your idle smooth. HTH
