Manufacturer fitted phone bay? (help needed!)

Hi guys, i have a 57 plate vectra SRI sat nav, which has a device fitted in the centre between the arm rest and the gear stick (as shown in picture).

I bought this car off my sister, who has no idea what the device is for! so now i'm asking you lot.

Could anyone here tell me what it actually does? (is it hands free, does it charge your phone...) I assume its designed for a phone cradle to be fitted onto it, if thats the case then does anyone know where i could purchase one to fit it for the Nokia N97 mini?

You have a factory fit mobile phone hands free system, that's the base where you attach the holder for your phone!

You could have done with a bigger picture as i just can't make it out

Do you have a phone symbol on your display if so select it and go to options and pair your phone to the car and bin that centre piece and replace it with a drinks holder as its more trouble than its worth in that their are limited Vauxhall phone holders and not many for modern phones and they cost a fortune.

Edited that picture for you as it was masssssive!!!

I replaced mine with the cupholders aswell..

i've checked out ebay, yet i can only really find ones for around £20 that are used, and the ones on the vauxhall website dont have a picture.

Do you know where i could get one with the cover attached from?
