Get the codes read? Could be the throttle body.

What bigmac said. I cleaned the EGR on my old V6CDTi and it was exactly the same as before, limp mode and P0400 fault code

Mine does this it may do it twice in one week and then not do it for a month I,ve checked it, my garage has checked it, VX have checked it and NOTHING! I have now put it down to if I have been sitting in 5th gear and then try to accelerate it goes into limp mode. My solution change down to 4th or 3rd and gun it and she is happy....damn car is like the missus I don,t understand her either!

Vx can read the codes but you can by a reader off ebay and save you a few quid in the long run

I originally bought the Tech2 USB cable but It didnt work with my Vectra C 2002. I believe because it just didnt support the early Vectra C. I have since got the OP-COM connector and cable from ebay for about £25 and have read my error codes without a problem. I also noticed today in the HOW2 section of the forum how to read the error codes without the cable or software. Click here:

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81742

I dont know if it works but give it a try.

On my 2.0DTi, a circlip had come off the actuator on the turbo which stopped the turbo working and then put the car into limp mode. I found this happened when I put my foot down and the turbo boost was high.
