Unhappy alternative power feed to 12v sockets

    Hi folks

One annoying feature I would like to sort out is the fact that the power supply to the 12v auxilary sockets (both front and rear) only exists when the ignition is turned to position 3 (Ignition lights on or engine running). The issue is that I have a parrot wired in to his feed and also use a DVD player for my little daughter in the back and if I need to switch the engine off both devices go off immediately which is a pain especially if the dvd goes off (some screaming and crying etc ).
Now if I could just turn the key to position 2 to turn the engine off but leave the power on.
I have had a quick look in the fuse box for a feed but never really digged deep until now.

Anybody had the same problem and worked out a solution?

Is there a fuse that is live on position 2 of the ignition key and is off when the key is removed?

I've already got a live feed in the existing wiring to the 12v aux power sockets that I plug the dvd's into and the parrot is hard wired to but it's only on when the engine is running. I want a feed that is on until I take the keys out of the ignition then it turns off.

My parrot doesnt go off straight away, it stays on for a short time before i remove the key with a message asking if I want to transfer the call to the handset, not sure how long it stays on for though, I either keep the engine running until I finish the call, or press the button to transfer back to the phone straight away, I'd go out and check for you but its on the dining table at the moment waiting to be fitted into the new car, I've not had time yet.

It was connected via a SOT lead and the power was taken from the front accessory socket.

Yeah same here with my parrot, I can turn off the engine and transfer the call but I am lazy and would like to carry on a conversation hands free without the engine turning if I need to.
It's probably the dvd issue in the back that I would like sorted the most. If I have to call in at the garage for fuel or something like that where I have to turn the motor off her DVD goes off. If that's not bad enough when it comes back on it starts from the beginning again!! Both these result in..!!!!!!
One issue is related to the other if you know what I mean? I just need to find a live that is on when the key is at position 2 as I don't really want the sockets live all the time.
