I will be doing this job at the weekend also, so an easy way to do it would be great

You have to clamp the springs to remove the top nut and bearing bud, there is no other way or short cut

When doing the strut top bearing would it be wise to do the ARB bushes at the same time?

Did mine today using the excellent how to in the link above. Took me about 2 hours from wheels off to wheels back on. Main problem was cracking the nuts loose on the link arms. It's a bit awkward getting a spanner onto the back of the bush, but once it's done it's very straight forward. Steering is a dream now and no annoying noises anymore.
