Default Sat nav question | wanted!

    I own a 2004 Vectra Elegance fitted with a CCR 2006 CD/Radio/Cassette.

I would like to remove this and fit a SAT NAV/CD Player in it's place.

Please can someone let me know which Vauxhall SAT NAV models will work in this vehicle and be compatible with the existing screen and steering wheel controls. With this in mind, would I need to take the vehicle to a Vauxhall dealership to perform the installation and what would be involved?

    Any advice appreciate.
    Thanks. Martin.

A NCDC series will go straight in , only 2 canbus wires needed to be added between the screen and head unit. Then just the antenna , should take less than 1 hour to do all the work involved , you will need a matched head unit and screen ( trust me the screens are the hard part to get) yours will not work with the sat nav unit. You will still be able to use your wiper stalk for BC functions and also the bc button on the stereo

you would need the NCDC range (2011, 2013, 2015)

You would need a new screen also.

If you get a pair thats "married" then you wont need tech2.. otherwise make sure that you have unites thats depaird.

how to install, look in the How2 section, as theres a guide to it..(i know as ive made it)

If you get a NCDC2011, 2013 or 2015...do ensure that the screen and head-unit are from a Vectra-C / Signum and NOT from an Omega B.

Omega-B screens are wired up to take all engine inputs from analogue sources..(temp sensor, fuel tank level, fuel flow-rate / injector impulse length etc)..Vectra-C etc, use Canbus inputs from the engine ECU and the UEC to provide BC functions etc.

    Thanks for the replies.

Am I correct in suggesting that the NCDC range (2011, 2013, 2015) are just the head units without the screens? I would like a colour screen so is there a model number to look out for, for this, and is it compatible with 2011, 2013 & 2015 head units?

Also, there seems to be a compatibility issue raised in relation to a 2013 and CID/GID. What does this mean and how do I ensure I get a matched head unit & screen and would I need to ensure the units come will all the cables?

Finally, presumably the unit will come with the GPS antenna rather than this already being installed in the vehicle. If so, upon installation where exactly do you put this?

I'd imagine I will either find what I need either on eBay or a breakers yard so it is essential I get the right items including any cabling that may be required. I don't want any nasty suprises so any assistance in determining what's required would be appreciated.

    Thanks again, Martin.

Also, will the cars computer info work as normal without needing adjustment with the replacement head unit and screen?
