    Default Wot a terrible day!!

    Long story short!! (im hungover)
    Took car to get new tyre as had slow puncture! Turned out i needed 3 .
    As he was taking off the last wheel (the 1 with slow puncture) he broke the lock nut key!! He eventually got the nut off but wrecked it!! i now need the key and 2 nuts .
    Any1 any idea how much this is gona cost me?

    ohhhh and still a slow puncture!! must be bent alloy grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    He broke it, he pays for it imo. I bet he used an air gun too.....

    They can be wound up lightly with them, but not undone or given the final torque. The shock action just wears them out or shears them off.

    Just a lazy fitter who owes you a set of locking bolts imo!

    vauxhall did the same thing to my mates lock key they were gonna charge him £58 for a replacment key?? but worst of all they put the nuts back on with there skelly key??? is what he said, so if he got to change a wheel he was in the **it. they got him another key F,O,C in the end after much shouting and raving, so like its been said, they should pay for new key or full set mate

    Sound just like my fitter.... when he was repairing one of my wheels.. fist question with airgun in hand... do you have the key for your wheels... reply... well not if you are going to use that... (also the reason i dont have locking bolt on my car....and 3 sets of tyres)

    its fine to undo them with the gun, just quick blasts and it will come undone no problem, if it wont then use the lever bar, the garage should replace them for you though, my garage would anyway i know that much
