    Default Black smoke question

okay i have been having a nightmare of a time with my sig as of lately and i have finally got it running but i still have a load of black smoke from 3k revs and upwards so far i have replaced

    dpf
    dpf sensor
    egr valve
    1 boost pipe
    front flexi pipe

and have cleaned out the boost sensor and throtle body and all other areas but im still getting the smoke

would it be the turbo or just needing to re generate the dpf

    any help would be great

    my car is a 1.9cdti 120 sig on a 54 plate

Normally black smoke is a sign of over-fuelling. Can you hear the turbo?

Have you changed the air filter recently,if not,it may be an idea to change it,it sounds like it could be slightly over fuelling and not getting enough air.

    I'm out of ideas then
Did it start smoking like this since putting in the k+n ?
Is it the dpf regenerating perhaps ?

Just to throw a real curve-ball at this one.
Have you checked your engine temperature sensor (for the ECU, not the gauges if this is separate).
Was a very common fault on early Vauxhalls, may be fooling the ECU into thinking the engine is cold, and thus requiring the "Fuel Enrichment" circuit to kick in. (A bit like the old choke mechanisms).

Other than this, what about the MAF sensor - this is used for fueling control under acceleration.
At idling and gentle cruising, mixture control returns to the oxy sensors.

A faulty MAF would normally bring up the spanner light, it does sound to me like it's overfuelling or there's a boost leak somewhere.

get someone to hold the revs down at about 2.5k & check round all the boost hoses & also the intercooler.
