Thumbs up TECH 2 and DPF????

hi all i went to the stealers yesterday to get my locking wheel nuts removed from my previus thread while i was there i was speaking to the technician about tech 2 and asked him if i decided to remove my dpf on my 06 sri estate 1.9cdti 16v could you tech 2 it out so the car does not even know its there and wont regen. i explained to him that i can knock the insides out and crimp over the pressure tube to stop the light cumming on and he said that he def thinks the tech 2 can erase the dpf from the car so in theory you could weld in a stright through pipe and just cut back the sensing lines or tie them out of the way so for £60 for tech 2 then you have no more dpf probs and no more smokey regens

he wasnt 100% sure but the tech 2 guru he called the lad was not in that day

but in your opinion is it worth it for the dpf and will i see a mpg increase and performnce gains

also is there a cat on the estates with dpf or not???

any comments or opinions greatly appreciated thanks

Yes the estate has cat and DPF. I recently enquired about this and was told that it's hit and miss wether it works. Some accept the deletion, others don't. Only way to see, is to try.

I think it would be better to get the DPF deselected first, then if it's ok, get advice from an exhaust specialist (Powerflow etc) about replacing the DPF and Cat with just straight pipes.

Why do you want to remove the dpf anyway?, it wont make any difference with or without it..

it must make some difference to performance as the gasses have to be forced through the dpf where as they flow through a cat or silencer and must put alot of back pressure on the turbo too

i know when the 1.3cdti's were beeing removed for the post office and other large fleets they had to change the engine looms and ecu turbo vac pipes exhurst system and loads a little things ...i know with the vectra you get a choice of two ecu's with or without dpf and if you sps the ecu's differently they reject due to a harware problem ....might be best to drill it out the dpf and leave it .....
