    Default No power at all :( Possible blocked injector?

    I fitted an open tipe air filter with a cold air feed to my 120 cdti veccy.

    The other day i noticed alot of power loss, hardly any power infact, but revved up in neutral just fine.

    Popped bonnet to see the bad boy air filter had come unsecure so i had been using the car with no filter.

    I have tryed replacing the air filter. Resetting the ecu by unplugging battery over night.

    If i take it up the rev range in 3rd, when it eventually reaches around 4000rpm the spanner light says hi and i loose even more power.

    Ive rack'd my brain and this is all i can come up with,,,

    1) The turbos up the creek,
    2) The MAF sensor is muffed
    3) Blocked injector/s from sucking in ****!!!

    Can anyone point me in the correct direction.

    Looks like im having a fun bank holiday monday!

    Injectors will not be affected by unfiltered intake air.

    What fault codes do you have stored? Use the 'pedal trick' to find out the codes, then post them back here.

    These cone air filters are pointless, can cause MAF problems, and offer no performance gain over the standard air box set-up.

    The pedal trick does not work on my car. What possible problems could there be? There is no unusual smoke, the car just sounds a little tappier than normal

    You may want to get the codes read, my thoughts are you AFM is failing & probably caused by the cone filter

    afm is the air flow meter yes?

    Could i have a split turbo hose?

    It goes into limb mode over 3500rpm

    It's maybe worth taking your EGR valve off and stripping it down and giving it a good clean, worked on mine when i had the same problem your discribing. Its not hard to do mate and there is a good "how 2" with good pics on stripping and the cleaning process. Hope this helps.

    Massive thanks to ben (djr69uk) who came round and had a look at the motor with me. Cleared the error codes and they didn't reappear so they must have been a one off fault. Turned out there was a split in a tiny vacuum pipe linked to the turbo, ben has photos that he will be uploading.

    Brilliant result that it was a small problem. And not hundreds at the stealers. Shame we'd already had it on the ramps and the undertray off when there was no need.
